Could always be worse.
I'm an (almost) 38 year old C/L wife, SAH-stepmom of 11 years to my loving teddybear, and
the three (not so) little (anymore) bears that he shares with me. We share our home with
2 Shih Tsu's, 2 cockatiels, 2 african fat-talked geckos, and lots of tropical fish.
I am a cancer survivor having had Ovarian cancer in Sept of 1994, and a subsequent surgery in
March of 1996 (non cancerous). I am grateful to be among those who can say that they battled cancer
and won. These days I contend with Lower Lymphedema in both legs, PCOS, IR, and Asthma.
Some days it seems like an incredible load to bear, but most days it's just the Status Quo, and
I realize that pushing through the medical inconveniences of life is a small price to pay for
being alive. It could have easily gone the other way..
When I'm not online I enjoy scrapbooking, rubber stamping, movies, music, among other pursuits.
Though I often tease the kids that I no longer have a life, I have children instead. Seems that
in the midst of it all there's rarely enough time to get to what I want to do, after all the hats
come off at the end of the day there's just nothing left. I've made it a goal this year to try and
make more time for my interests, and pursuits because truly, if I lose myself I won't have much to offer anyone, now will I?
I'm currently living in the Brockville area of Ontario, having moved here in January of 1997 from Vancouver. I sometimes joke that since I was born in Montreal, and we moved to Vancouver when I was 2, that now that I'm in Ontario that I can honestly say I'm truly Canadian. To which hunny usually adds that it's time to move to Calgary now.. Smartass!
